Mr T is known to millions as B.A. Baracus from The A-Team and Clubber Lang in Rocky III.

Mr T had a very tough up bringing, he grew up on the rough south side ghetto area of Chicago. He is the second to youngest of twelve children, with four sisters and seven brothers. After his father left him when he was five years old his mum brought the family up on only $87 a month welfare. While growing up in a rough neighbourhood his brother told Mr T to bulk up just to survive on their estate. Mr T grew up going to Dunbar Vocational High School where he mainly stayed out of trouble because of his mum and what she would think if he got into trouble.

Mr T got his named change so that people would have to give him instant respect by calling him Mister. On his way to stardom Mr T was a bouncer and was named America’s toughest bouncer twice! He was also a bodyguard for Muhammed Ali, Steve McQueen and Diana Ross. Mr T was also in the military police, which would soon be chasing him in The A-Team.

Mr T was picked up by Sylvester Stallone to play a boxer in Rocky III, this was Mr T’s first main role on the big screen and thanks to Rocky the Mr T fan club began. A year after Rocky III Mr T got the role of B.A. Baracus in the legendary show The A-Team. Once The A-Team started he was a household name all over the USA and the world.

After The A-Team and at the ages of 43 in 1995 Mr T was diagnosed with lymphoma which is cancer of the lymph system. As with anything Mr T fought cancer and beat the disease in 2001 aged 49.

Mr T is a true legend and someone who use’s his fame to good use helping kids out in youth centre’s in USA. He gave all his gold to his family so they could sell it and get some money what a kind and gentle giant Mr T is and we wish him all the best.
